Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney is a document which should go hand in hand with your will and form part of your estate planning.

A Power of Attorney is a document authorising another person to act on your behalf in the event that you become unable to make your own decisions due to incapacity, absence or other circumstances. A Power of Attorney can be limited to financial, personal or health matters. In addition, you can stipulate in a Power of Attorney a timeframe in which the decision-making powers will begin.

SJ Law are able to provide you with the right advice and assistance in appointing an attorney to ensure your financial and personal affairs are managed properly and effectively at all times in which you are absent or unable to handle your affairs. In addition to the Power of Attorney, we are able to assist you with an Advance Health Directive which enables you to specify certain action to be taken, or not to be taken, in the event of future health difficulties.
